Yeap..that’s why I’m a Democrat.

Unfortunately, we have all the cards stacked against us even if we get one of our candidates elected. Both depend upon corporation money, too much, to get elected. I guess most of us are, whether we want to be or not.

Like many other middle class workers, my retirement is tied to my 401k. How the markets go, so does my future. The stock market is the largest gambling machine ever created. We are forced to gamble with our future. I, like most people with 401K, do not actively take part in that portfolio. I check it occasionally, and change things around ever now and then, but am not as active as I should be.

Gambling like this is not my choice, but has been shoved down throat without another option. Maybe we all are part of the problem, but at least, as a Democrat, I want to help change it.

[...] by mundanelike pam, i’ve consciously stayed aways from commenting on the clinton campaign for the pattern few days. i was way too overheated after the debate to say anything constructive. while most people were justifiably upset at abc, i couldn’t get past clinton’s gratuitous piling on. did she exceedingly extremity, on her own, to make noticeable up louis farrakhan? hamas? i didn’t think so.and, it wasn’t exactly the piling on. her foreign policy hawkishness also shone from stem to stern during the debate and this is my main objection to a hillary clinton presidency. she’s never repudiated her iraq attest to (and only reluctantly backtracked since her presidential campaign began). not to call she embraced the right-wing frame on iran.this brings us to today and to why i’m pissed cancelled all over again. here’s hillary, caught on tape speaking at a private donor rite soon after wonderful tuesday, trashing moveon.org and the democratic activist base. “moveon.org endorsed [sen. barack obama] which is like a gusher of money that never seems to hold back down,” clinton said to a meeting of donors. “we have been less successful in caucuses because it brings non-functioning the activist base of the democratic cocktail. moveon didn’t even dearth us to go into afghanistan. i mean, that’s what we’re dealing with. and you know they turn inaccurate in great numbers. and they are definitely driven by their gauge of our positions, and it’s primarily federal security and foreign policy that drives them. i don’t agree with them. they know i don’t allow with them. so they flood into these caucuses and lead them and really intimidate people who actually show up to support me.”there is so much excuse-making, blame-shifting, and outright falsification here that i don’t even know where to begin. so, i’ll leave aside the bit forth the “gusher of money” (obama’s buy stromectol online money is not solely moveon money). also, i will put aside the ridiculousness of the idea that the activist subservient–a lascivious hillary should respect, if not clinch–”dominates” and “intimidates” her supporters at caucuses (this is more acescent grapes and find-making fit poor organizing and campaigning). finally, as hard as it may be, i’ll ignore the complete lie that “moveon didn’t even want us to go into afghanistan.” (this has been debunked across the internets today and is just not true. what’s worse, this is a karl rove-invented lie. yes, karl rove. tolerably said.)what i do want to focus on is this: “[t]hey are truly driven by their view of our positions, and it’s primarily federal security and foreign policy that drives them. i don’t agree with them. they know i don’t agree with them.” what specifically are the “national sanctuary and foreign policy” views that clinton does not approve of with? i suspect they are the word-for-word issues with which i started this post: iraq and iran; war and armistice; belligerence and saber rattling versus acceptable, gradual diplomacy.hillary clinton has always put herself in the “serious” camp. she’s a joe lieberman democrat. her hate for those who were right all along about the war, and who dare to question her on it, has been simmering under the surface inasmuch as most of the last few years. here we finally see what she says in private, as opposed to her scripted message.i’ve been done with the senator from new york pretty much since south carolina, so words like these being revealed won’t sway me. i do hope, however, that hillary’s words will sway some of her supporters who have overlooked her iraq vote, who have given her the allowances of the doubt, who refuse to keep her answerable, to maybe contend against another look at the candidate they so vociferously support.(cross-posted at state of the day.)Related posts: Bret michaels rock of love, The biggest fan, Mute, Rome marathon, Ed tv [...]
